Justin Colón– Children’s Author
Justin is a Latinx children’s author and active SCBWI member represented by Jennifer March Soloway of the Andrea Brown Literary Agency. He’s also the founder and host of PBChat, a free weekly Twitter chat and annual mentorship program for picture book creators (learn more about PBChat here: justincolonbooks.com/pbchat).
Telling stories and expressing himself creatively has been a true passion for Justin since…well…pretty much forever because he’s also a professionally trained, working on-camera actor and voice actor. True story, look him up on IMDB. While he absolutely loves acting and voiceover, writing is a different passion that lets him tell stories to a completely different audience, children! His acting roles are usually more on the darker, villainous side (because he’s awesome at it), but he is still a kid at heart and appreciates the impact that children’s books had on him as a child and wants to pay that forward.
When he isn’t writing, acting, or entertaining the world in some way, Justin enjoys reading and collecting books (good hobby for a writer), woodworking (good hobby to make extra bookshelves for collecting books), drawing and painting, and watching animated films and shows because they’re awesome and he loves them with his eight-year-old brother (who is also an actor). His guilty pleasure in contrast to writing and reading is listening to motivational audio recordings.
